DELHI POLICE COMMEMORATES BRAVEHEARTS AT NATIONAL POLICE MEMORIAL

New Delhi । While observing Police Commemoration Day, Delhi Police in the presence of Sh. Sanjay Arora, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, held dedicated memorial services at National Police Memorial, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, today. The CP Delhi offered homage to police martyrs by laying wreath at the memorial whose "Wall of Valour" bears names of police personnel who have laid their lives in the line of duty.

At crack of dawn a ‘Run for Martyrs’ was organized to pay homage to the martyrs. CP Delhi and Senior Officers participated in the symbolic run which started from Nehru Park and reached National Police Memorial and paid floral tributes.

Subsequent to this, families of Delhi Police martyrs and serving personnel visited National Police Memorial and paid floral tributes to the martyrs. In the memorial complex they also visited the museum, highlighting history and evolution of Policing in India besides focusing on the multifarious roles performed by the Police and difficulties faced by the Policemen. At National Police Memorial theatre, they were also shown short films highlighting the sacrifice, valour and brave acts of police personnel. Delhi Police expressed gratitude by honouring courageous families of Delhi Police martyrs(2022-23).

In the evening, Sh. Sanjay Arora, commissioner of Police, Delhi and Senior Officers visited the National Police Memorial with their spouses. The CP Delhi paid homage to martyrs by laying wreath at the Memorial, followed by Special Commissioners and spouses of officers. A short film on sacrifice and valour of police personnel was displayed at the event. Delhi Police Brass Band and Delhi Police Women Pipe Band played patriotic tunes followed by a harmonious retreat ceremony.

A series of events on the occasion of All India Police Commemoration day were held from 22.10.2023 to 30.10.2023 by Delhi Police in districts and units. CAPFs/CPOs including Delhi Police were entrusted one day each for conducting programmes/events at National Police Memorial, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi and Delhi Police was assigned to conduct the programmes/events on 30.10.2023.
